Movie Research: Hair and Makeup

      Hair and makeup are used to convey a character's status or personality. Hair and makeup are significant because they ate interpretative tools used in film to enhance and describe actor's appearance during a performance and add to the aesthetic of the film. The elements of hair and makeup are tone, style, time, place, and character personality.

      Place is setting and where the film take place. Style is techniques a director uses to create a movie and it can include theme, sound, dialogue cinematography and lighting. Time is when the film takes place is important to the aesthetic of the film. Tone is a quality in the voice that expresses the speaker's feelings or thoughts, often toward the person being spoken to. Character personality are the traits defining characteristics and these are revealed through their actions throughout the story.

      Evelyn Abbott, the mother, hair is blonde symbolizing beauty and vitality, but messy symbolizing tiredness. She has eyebags under her eye also symbolizing tiredness. Regan Abbott, the daughter, has short hair symbolizing newfound independence, confidence, and that she is sweet.
